这夜的晚餐听着Mehmuel如何渡过他觉得最糟糕的生日。
被哥哥骗说一起庆祝生日， 其实是在掩盖羞耻一面。 被拉到歌厅，有小姐们陪伴， 听老哥的经济压力故事。后来曲终人散，Mehmuel 带着penpen uncle孤单一路走到Bugis MRT 回家。被利用为棋子， 一颗不早回家的理由筹码。他觉得哥哥shame， 不会好好承担为爸爸的责任身份。重复penpen papa 的错误- 不会好好对家人。
他轻声说 “never ever i will go and meet my brother out if he asked. i actually want to celebrate with you”, ‘its okayla, we can celebrate today’, “next time if we ever have dinner with MsWu, i will not drink again or learn from you, drink abit will do”, ‘sometimes i am tempted to drink, but then i think, no la, not good’
从Mehmuel 的背景和家庭我更看清楚新加坡草根人民的生活是怎样的。为了所谓的survival，大家牺牲了不少- 文化，甚至整个家庭社会结构。
